This site
is dedicated to the growth and advancement of High School
Show Choir programs through out the Country. Originating in the Midwest,
they have rapidly caught on all across the Country, but only a small percentage
of the population seems to understand the full value of these programs.
Traditionally schools relied on the athletic programs to teach commitment,
competitive drive, and physical fitness, along with academic requirements.
The Show Choir programs combine the toughest demands of athletics, including
team spirit, with the finest forms of contemporary vocal music and closely
choreographed dance routines. A typical Show Choir member will acquire a
level of poise and self confidence that is unsurpassed.
Most Show Choirs choose members through an audition process, and place
rigid demands on the students. Rehearsals are often held outside of regular
school hours, and many groups require private tutoring. Regardless of the
varied operations, every single Choir puts together a series of very entertaining
numbers that are performed at many different civic, church, and school
functions in their localities.
Their efforts culminate in competitions with other Choirs at many Invitational
Show Choir contests around the Country. The Choirs are judged by professionals,
and compete for trophies and prestige. It is a spirit lifting experience
to attend one of these contests. I heartily recommend it.
